Arcade Convoy Radio
Arcade Convoy Radio is the music player I built for Arcade Convoy, but I also use it on its own while I play other PC games or just listen to music. It keeps the music moving by randomly choosing from my local collection and internet radio stations instead of making me manage a playlist all the time. It supports MP3, FLAC, MIDI, tracker music, internet radio, and other formats, so different kinds of music can all live in the same collection. You can control which music types are used, how long songs play, and how they crossfade, which makes it easy to keep the soundtrack changing while you play.
Favorites are weighted, so songs and stations you like can come up more often without turning random play into the same short playlist. Controller support also lets you handle basic playback while you are in a game. The idea is simple: let the music keep moving in the background, but make it easy to step in when you want to skip a song, mark a favorite, or change what is playing.
Installation and Portability
Arcade Convoy Radio is designed to be easy to set up and start using with your own music collection. As the next release gets closer, this page will point to the current installation and download information.
There is also a portable version that can run without a normal installation, which is useful if you want to keep the player and its setup together in one place.
To add music, point Arcade Convoy Radio at a folder in your collection. The folders inside it can be used as stations, so a large music library can be organized without rebuilding everything by hand. Favorite-song information and internet radio station lists can also be saved and shared.
